The brief

A brand new drywall company launching in the Bay Area with no customers, no reviews, and no name anyone could search for. The website was the first thing they built. I designed and developed it, wrote the copy, and set up the local SEO so the business could compete for work from day one.

The situation

VIP Drywall was a new business. The owner brought years of trade experience, but the company itself had no clients, no reviews, no referral network, and nothing for anyone to find.

Rather than wait for word of mouth to build, the owner decided the website would be the first thing the business invested in. The brief: establish credibility for a company with no track record, explain the services in plain terms, rank for service and city searches, and make requesting a quote take seconds on a phone from a job site.

The process

Alan, the CEO, had a clear picture of how he wanted the company to come across. My job was to turn that picture into something real and walk him through every decision along the way, so nothing about the finished site came as a surprise.

Positioning and copy
Every page written the way contractors and homeowners talk: hanging, taping, texture matching, repairs, new construction. Services and service areas stated plainly.

Responsive WordPress build
Mobile first, since most enquiries come from a phone, and on WordPress so the business owns the site and can keep upgrading it.

Local SEO foundation
Service and city keywords built into the page structure, headings and metadata.

Enquiry flow
A short quote form capturing job type, location and timeline, so the team can price without a round of back and forth.

The result

$200K+

in new project opportunities the business has been able to pursue, from a standing start, through the website.

This figure is the combined estimated value of projects VIP Drywall was invited to bid, scope or quote after being found through the site. It represents opportunity created.

Visibility on Google

The company opened with a presence in local search rather than waiting months for referrals to accumulate, and began to gain traction within the first 90 days. It now holds top spots for “drywall services in Sunnyvale, CA.”

A pipeline without a network

Enquiries arrive from people who had never heard the name, which is the only channel available to a business with no client list.

Access to bigger jobs

The site gave access to project types that normally go to established contractors, including new construction and multi unit work.

A site that keeps growing with them

Because it runs on WordPress, the team has kept adding services, projects and pages as the business expands, upgrading the site over time instead of outgrowing it. The business has also begun capturing customer reviews.
